BLOGGER SAYS: "Additionally, the role of the Association isn't to determine how bloggers work but how we work with them. And for those of us who are blogging (shout out to davidbinkowski.com), I'd hate to have an association telling me the rules of my venue."

PEOPLE WORKING WITH BLOGGER MIGHT SAY: "I'd hate to have an association telling me the rules of my venue."

Let's not go here.

Let's try to keep this noble effort on the right plane. If WOMMA is trying to develop "Principles for Ethical Contact by Marketers" it does make sense to keep them in the realm of principles (not rules). And it does beg the question for a reciprocal set of principles, as Giles suggested.

I imagine that it was a pretty arduous task just getting a team together to develop and publish this list. It would require more work, and a bit of mission creep, but you might consider an all-encompassing "10 Principles for Ethnsical Blogging Engagement" (bilateral). Of course, this title is too broad and includes the kitchen sink (luckily I'm not on the committee). But something that goes both ways might be better.

Awesome idea! I really appreciate it.
