Walking the Talk to Sustainable Growth Values Blog
Program Summary:
Ask employees to help define the behaviors that exemplify each of the values (quality, innovation, integrity, accountability, collaboration, passion & leadership) by providing real workplace examples. Two members of the Executive Committee hosted a 24-hour employee blog focused on one of the seven values. Employee comments were collected to build the framework for recommendations to the Executive Committee on what and how we need to change our corporate culture in order to deliver against our long-term vision.
One month awareness campaign prior to blog: Digital (emails, website, voicemail), desk drop flyer, cafeteria table tents, other printed collateral, and "Indoor billboards."
Results (specific):
1. Active participation rate shattered benchmark goal (+30%)
2. >80% passive participation (viewed but did not post)
3. 100% global Operating Group participation
Results (general):
Many organizational behaviorists say true, effective organizational culture change takes 5-7 years. Due to efforts like this blog we're on track to deliver in less than 50% of the expected time.
