Microsoft's Blogger Lounge @ Macworld 2007

The Mac Business Unit at Microsoft (MacBU), creators of Office for Mac, sponsored a "Blogger Lounge" at the recent Macworld conference in San Francisco (Jan 9-12, 2007). Located in the main Exhibit Hall, this Lounge supported the Mac blogger community by providing free, fast internet access and a comfortable environment for people to write about their experiences at Macworld. In addition, people got a chance to meet fellow bloggers from Microsoft, as we posted a schedule of when our staff would be in the Lounge.

Our goal was to provide support to the Mac blogger communities and increase our visibility within these communities.

Logistics:
- 20' x 30' space
- Leather couches seating up to 14 people
- 6 iMacs
- High-speed internet cables for laptops
- Refreshments

Results:
- 96 posts mentioning the Microsoft Blogger Lounge (with those sites being linked to by another 7,000+ blogs)
- 26 photos posted to Flickr
- An average of 50 bloggers/day in the Lounge
- 100% positive to neutral coverage
- 4 video podcasts
