At the conclusion of this session, participants will understand how communities fit into a broader market & communications context, including:
- How social technologies – and the communities they enable – are different from traditional communication channels
- The difference between social media, social networks, and communities
- The history of the market & how it has evolved
- The program elements that are managed in a successful community program
- Descriptions of the roles encountered in community programs with specific identification of the specialist responsibilities
- Attributes and skills leading to success in the Specialist role and the expected career path as the Specialist grows in skills
- Differing types of communities that specialists manage the organizational teams that specialists work with
