WOM Wednesday Teleconference Recap -- Using House Parties to Spread Word of Mouth for Your Brand

On Wednesday, April 4, WOMMA hosted a teleconference in which listeners learned how to spread word of mouth not by blogging, emailing, or even talking -- but by throwing a party. House party experts David Salie and Lynn O'Connell of Party2Win, along with their client, Melinda Fox of the Humane Society Legislative Fund, described how organizing simultaneous house parties -- whether a few, a dozen, or even hundreds -- can help companies strengthen relationships with their customers, promote new products, and raise awareness or money for important issues.

Salie and O'Connell introduced the concept of house parties and how they can ignite a flutter of activity among brand evangelists, influencers, and even more typically passive consumers. Fox, meanwhile, presented a case study detailing the development, organization, and success of the Humane Society's house party program, which it has charged with building awareness and raising funds around important legislative issues.

Together, Party2Win and the Humane Society offered strategies for:

  • Empowering passionate fans to spread the word about your product
  • Launching new products with parties where customers can see, try, or taste your product
  • Adding excitement to premiers of campaigns, shows, or contests
  • Using online tools to take your viral campaign offline
  • Selling products direct to customers
  • Building customer loyalty
  • Using events to raise funds, build awareness, and impact legislation
  • Earning more media and publicity
  • And more!

Featured Speakers:

  • Melinda Fox, Development Director, Humane Society Legislative Fund
  • Lynn O'Connell, CEO, Party2Win
  • David Salie, Associate, Party2Win
