The Senior Web Development position is for the person who can manage all things related to our website. The site is currently being developed, but in a short period of time, will go live. Once that happens, the site needs to run, evolve, improve and engage with its users in a number of ways.
We are looking for someone who can manage the site in its (soon-to-be) current format, and spend your working hours figuring out how to make it even more user-friendly, more interesting to use, and more robust for the business.
Since this is a start-up, it is a great time to join us if you have the entrepreneurial spirit and drive to do something memorable, create something that is yours, have fun doing it, and make money at the same time.
Our offices are in Kendall Square, so if you live in on the Red Line, it is an ideal location, right near the T stop. Casual dress, loads of snacks, great coffee, flexible hours and other perks are all part of this gig.
Overall, you will be responsible for understanding customer needs, maintaining the product roadmap, specifying and driving development of features for the site, and executing against that shared vision.
Some of your responsibilities will include the following:
- Design graphical interface for website and all outgoing emails and programs
- Maintain, update and create new web pages
- Optimize, debug and test emails for usability and deliverability
- Maintain the core design principles of the website
- Identify ways to improve on the site, using Web 2.0 concepts and tools
- Other cool stuff you can think of to make your job more interesting and rewarding!
We are not hung up on you having gone to an Ivy League school, but having some solid programming skills is a must. Having a good eye for design, and an understanding of how people are using the web today, is also important. It's also good if you can handle multiple projects at the same time, and work with relatively low amounts of supervision and guidance.
