The Sales Director serves as the champion and primary interface for Nielsen Online with all clients/prospects within a defined regional or vertical territory. The Sales Director will report to the VP of Sales. The position is focused on meeting targets related to:
- Sales
- New client acquisition
- Client retention
- Cross-selling
- Client satisfaction
- Service - maintain and renew an assigned portfolio of accounts.
- Develop long-term relationships with clients to learn the nuances of their businesses, understand their needs and identify additional revenue opportunities.
- Continually up-sell additional products to client base.
- Prospect for new clients within a defined geographical or vertical territory.
- Manage all available internal resources to ensure that revenue and customer expectations are met.
- Stay knowledgeable of all new and existing product offerings so that they are presented in an effective manner to the market.
- Coordinate closely with assigned Client Service Representative to ensure clients understand and derive value from our products and services.
- Work with custom and analytics team to sell and prepare custom analysis for clients.
- Engage in account planning on targeted accounts.
- Command an in-depth understanding of the media and market research industry, research practices and applications, and overall market trends.
Job Requirements:
- 3-5 years sales/account management experience
- Good understanding of the media/market research industry
- Experience with online companies -- preferable media related
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
- Ability to work as a team player
- Good time/priority management skills
Educational Requirements:
- B.A./B.S. or equivalent
