Verdia E. Johnson is a broad-based marketing professional with 25 years of experience in marketing and advertising working on both general market and ethnic business.

Currently, Verdia Johnson is President and co-founder of Footsteps, a marketing and advertising agency that specializes in culturally relevant, customized communications that target multicultural consumers. As President, Johnson is primarily responsible for new business development and the strategic direction for the company, which includes brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, ExxonMobil and GlaxoSmithKline. Johnson and her partner are majority owners of a partnership with Omnicom, one of the world’s largest communications holding companies.

Prior to founding Footsteps, Johnson worked as Vice President and General Manager of Stedman Graham & Partners Advertising, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Gannett Outdoor, and held various senior marketing positions at Colgate Palmolive Co., Standard Brands and Nabisco Brands where she managed advertising budgets of $300-500 million.

Johnson has been featured on CNBC’s Power Lunch TV Series, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, MORE Magazine, On Wheels Radio Show, Bloomberg Radio’s Powerful Women in Business segment, and a host of other radio stations talking about multicultural marketing and the future of advertising.

Also, Johnson was the recipient of the Ebony Magazine Outstanding Women in Marketing and Communications and The Network Magazine’s 25 Most Black Influential Women In Business.
